For us, it’s not just about delivering the facts and experiments required by the National Curriculum. We always push beyond that.
Crucially, our sequential Science curriculum is designed to encourage children both to understand how they are making progress and to build their confidence. The goal is to get them to work independently and collaboratively so that they can articulate, present and discuss their learning confidently. That’s when they get really inspired by the wonders of the world and motivated to take science further.

Quality lessons, engaging content, class collaboration, easy assessments
To access the thousands of digitised lessons we use to support the Lion Pathways Curriculum, you will need to sign up to Miro. This content-sharing platform lets teachers make, edit, share and distribute lessons to pupils, saving time and ensuring every student has a quality learning experience.
What am I learning? How does it relate to what I learnt last year and to what I'm going to learn next year? Our learning pathways graphically set out the whole subject curriculum and bring the learning journey to life for every learner, in each year.
For every lesson in every subject, the Lion Pathways Curriculum provides end-of-topic or end-of-module assessment sheets to print off and capture both pupil and teacher feedback for that piece of work. By actively tracking each learner’s views in a consistent and systematic way, it ensures their voice is heard and recorded, a core part of every element of the teaching and learning cycle.

At Lion, our approach to teaching science is highly child-centred. It’s not just about delivering the facts and experiments required by the National Curriculum. It’s about getting children to working independently and collaboratively so that they can articulate, present and discuss their learning confidently.
